The pollution increasing day by day due to the smoke produced by the factories, vehicles and from other sources. The main sources which purify the polluted air are declining due to urbanization and population explosion. The entire trees plantation within the city were disappeared and the surroundings area of Jalandhar i.e., open spaces around the city are replaced with concrete buildings. As a result of these developments, ecological balance balance has been destroyed leading to change in weather conditions. Keeping in view of this change, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar is taking up the tree plantation on large scale and greening programme in different parts of the city.
